Studio Dan

For a musical theater production/opera at the Dschungel Wien, we are casting two singers perceived as male, between the ages of 14 and 20 for the roles of two chorus singers.

The roles of the five choir members in Studio Dan’s production Weinen—a sick teen opera (libretto: Barbi Markovic, music: Daniel Riegler) are very extensive and multifaceted. On the one hand, the young performers will provide commentary on the action, but they will also take on the roles of school friends and the main protagonists — the Swifties. (Swifties because the play is also about Taylor Swift’s fans.) There will be singing, performing and crying.

The premiere and first performances of the opera will take place from April 8–12, 2027, at the Dschungel Wien as part of the SLUP Festival. The play is also scheduled to be performed at other venues later on.
The main rehearsal periods are December 2–5, 2026, and March 8–April 8, 2027. During these times, we will take the teenagers’ school schedules into account; however, participation will still require a significant time commitment.
Casting date: Monday, November 16, 3:00 p.m., Westbahnstudios Vienna. Invitations to the casting will be sent after a preliminary selection process.
Main rehearsal periods: December 2–5, 2026, and March 8–April 8, 2027
Performances: April 8–12, 2027, at Dschungel Wien
Compensation: Expense allowance of at least 600 euros
