Sonnensittich brings together experimental, historical, and contemporary short films with live music. The programme explores new ways of connecting image, sound, rhythm, and structure — beyond conventional film scoring.

At its core are experimental forms of interplay between moving image and music, exemplified by Hans Richter's abstract film Rhythmus 21 (1921), which dispenses with narrative entirely and opens up countless possibilities for musical interpretation.

The roughly 60-minute programme was created in cooperation with film curator Thomas Renoldner (BAAF Best Austrian Animation Festival).
