ROS 4 – ...im Gebirg
Studio Dan & Anthony Coleman
In 2019, the Ensemble Studio Dan commissioned New York composer and pianist Anthony Coleman for a new work. The program was premiered at the Saalfelden Jazz Festival and was also presented in Vienna at the Jeunesse Special 2019. This composition is now available on CD.
Thomas Mießgang writes about the music in the liner notes: "(...) Is it jazz? Is it contemporary music? Is that the throbbing motor of rock-and-roll in there? The answer is yes – all of it serves as raw material, says composer Anthony Coleman. He loves to spring wildly between genres, between styles, contrasting biomes.(...)"
