The works by the eight selected composers, created especially for Studio Dan as part of the Composers Lab, will have their world premieres this evening. Over the course of a week, the participants engaged deeply with their musical ideas and their realization, working closely with composer and Harvard professor Chaya Czernowin, Austrian composer Johannes Maria Staud, and the ensemble Studio Dan under the direction of Lin Liao. In this inspiring setting, the pieces underwent a “reality check” during the master class and were further developed with the ongoing support of internationally acclaimed instructors.

The audience is offered a unique listening experience: with no well-known names or detailed program notes, listeners are invited to approach each piece with openness and curiosity. The final concert of the Composers Lab 2025 is an invitation to witness the diversity and innovative spirit of a new generation of composers up close.
