A 4 channel installation by Melanie Hollaus and Daniel Riegler at the UdK Berlin Rundgang 2021
Filmmaker Melanie Hollaus freely assembles (urban) landscapes – in and around Vienna – associated with the term ruins. Documents of progress and decay are shown in a surprising and contradicting manner: the idyllic shots of the WIG 1964 (Vienna International Garden Show) are followed by the sudden unveiling of the landfill buried under the exhibition garden.
The music for RUINEN by Daniel Riegler exists as an independent composition for spatialized instrumental ensembles and soloist. The audiovisual work will be presented as a 4-channel installation.
