Studio Dan & Anthony Coleman

Continuing the series that began with Elliott Sharp and George Lewis, we are commissioning a composition by the New York pianist Anthony Coleman. He performed on John Zorn’s most influential recordings (“Spillane”, “Cobra”, “The Big Gundown”) and has worked with musicians such as Dave Douglas and Marc Ribot; with his own project Sephardic Tinge he toured extensively in Europe and the US. Together with Roy Nathanson, he released the album “Lobster And Friend”, a work highly acclaimed in Studio Dan circles. He has been on the faculty of the Mannes College New School for Music since 2012. The program will be premiered at Jazzfestival Saalfelden and presented as part of the Jeunesse Special in Vienna.
